There will be major changes to bus ad tram services on Saturday 12 August 3pm-9pm due to the Helsinki City Marathon and Helsinki Street Run.
The event will affect traffic in particular in Etu- and Taka-Töölö, Meilahti, Ruoholahti, Länsisatama and Lauttasaari. Mäntymäentie will be closed to traffic around the Olympic Stadium from Friday 11 August 12noon to Saturday 12 August 9pm. Other diversions will be in place mainly on Saturday 12 August 3pm-9pm. The arrangements will affect tram routes 2,3, 6T and 8 as well as bus routes 2X, 7X, 58, 69, 848, 14, 18, 20X, 21V, 24, H70T, 195, 502 and 640.
Streets and stops to be closed
Töölö and Meilahti:
Mäntymäentie 11 August 6pm - 12 August 9pm
Nordenskiöldinkatu/Reijolankatu at the start of the race on 12 August 3pm-3.15pm
Tallbergin puistotie 3pm-8pm
Katajaharju intersection/Länsiväylä 3pm-8pm
Ruoholahti and Länsisatama:
Länsilinkki (tram stops 0820 and 0821) 3pm-6.30pm
Diversions to bus and tram routes
Tram routes 2 and 3 will be diverted in three phases 2.30pm-9pm. The trams will switch route numbers at the Central Railway Station, Urheilutalo or Olympia Terminal.
In Eira, tram services will be replaced by bus 3X running from Lasipalatsi via Bulevardi and Fredrikinkatu to Neitsytpolku about 2pm-7.15pm. Passengers can change from bus to tram at the "Lasipalatsi" stop 1902. On Mannerheimintie, the bus 3X will use bus stops, otherwise it will use tram stops.
In addition, tram routes 6T and 8 will be diverted and track works will affect routes 4 and 10.
There may be delays to routes 2X, 7X, 58, 59, 69 and 848 on Nordenskiöldinkatu 3pm-3.15pm. The trams and buses will serve all stops along the diversion routes.
