West Metro test runs suspended

HKL's test runs on the new Metro line have been suspended.

HKL's test runs on the new West Metro have been suspended due to problems in power supply. Metro services are currently operating at irregular headways. Services are temporarily suspended between Kamppi and Ruoholahti 12.45pm-1.30pm.

Normal service is expected to resume from Ruoholahhti to Vuosaari and Mellunmäki during the afternoon before the afternoon peak.

-    HKL apologized for the delays to passengers caused by the problems in the test runs. We decided to suspend the test runs so that we could serve passengers as well as possible in the afternoon, says HKL's Managing Director Ville Lehmuskoski.

There were some problems in the test runs already in the morning, causing delays to services.

Delays to the Metro services and irregular headways may continue in Thursday afternoon.
