To be able to travel smoothly on the changeover weekend, top up your HSL card with value or a season ticket in advance. A season ticket purchased before the changeover can expire after the new zones have been introduced, i.e. the expiry date can be after 27 April.
You can have two consecutive season tickets on your card. This means you can buy a season ticket in advance and set the validity of the ticket to begin after the introduction of the new zones, even if you have a valid season ticket on your card. The start date of the second season ticket must be within 60 days of the expiry of the first ticket. You can set the ticket validity to start within 1-60 days from the moment of purchase.
If the expiry date of your current season ticket is after 27 April, it will be automatically converted into a new zone ticket.
This is how valid tickets will be converted at 4.30am on 27 April:
- Helsinki internal -> AB
- Espoo and Vantaa internal tickets -> BC
- Regional ticket -> ABC
- Kerava–Sipoo–Tuusula -> D
- Kirkkonummi–Siuntio -> D
- Extended region 2 -> BCD
- Extended region 3 -> ABCD
Because of sales system updates, sales and service points will not sell tickets on Saturday 27 April. You can use a season ticket loaded on your HSL card and buy value tickets at card readers as usual. The HSL app will work as usual, i.e. you will be able to buy single, day and season ticket using the app. In addition, single tickets are available from HSL single ticket machines, parking ticket machines in Helsinki and from bus drivers.
