New draft of the route network plan for Hämeenlinnanväylä and Vihdintie open for comments until 8 September

A second draft of the route network plan for Hämeenlinnanväylä and Vihdintie has been published. The new draft is available on the blog about the plan (in Finnish) and it is open for comments until Sunday 8 September.

HSL’s planners have revised the first draft, which was available for comments 14 November 2018 to 9 December 2018, based on resident feedback. As residents suggested a range of changes to the first draft, we wanted to take extra time to prepare the new draft. In addition to the resident feedback, we have utilized a previously conducted travel survey and information about the direction of journeys in the planning area.

The second draft proposes changes to routes in North Espoo, Hämeenkylä and Pähkinärinne as well as in Ylästö. In the draft route network plan, the bus network of West Vantaa and North Espoo is based on four new trunk routes and frequently running feeder services that complement them.

HSL encourages residents and passengers in the planning area to comment on the draft preferably on the blog. You can also give your feedback via HSL’s feedback system and customer service. Once the period for comments is closed, HSL’s planners will review the feedback received. The final draft is due to be discussed by the HSL Executive Board in autumn 2019. The changes are planned to be implemented in 2022.

The objective of the route network plan is to improve public transport service in the planning area, as well as to improve the punctuality and reliability of services. Furthermore, the aim is to ensure smooth interchanges and to make using public transport easier.
