Draft plan completed – have your say!
We have now completed the draft route network plan for Kerava and you can comment on the draft by 1 February 2015. The draft planon a map is available at the bottom of this page.
Why are we preparing the plan now?
The Helsinki metropolitan area public transport system will undergo major changes in the coming years: besides the opening of new rail and Metro lines (Ring Rail Line and West Metro), a new ticketing and information system will be introduced. Now is a good moment to not only assess the impacts of the changes on Kerava but also address other development needs in the town's transport services.
The work includes the planning of Kerava internal bus routes as well as routes to Sipoo, Vantaa and Helsinki. In addition, a rough outline will be provided for the connections needed in the direction of Tuusula and Järvenpää. The plan also aims to take into account the construction of new residential and employment areas as well as other changes to the urban area.
The aim is an efficient, clear and regularly running bus route network for Kerava to serve the current travel needs as well as possible.
