U line services are bus services whose routes extend beyond the HSL area. The U line buses have a
‘U’ sign in the front. All U-lines and their destinations in PDF format
On U line buses you can travel using season and value tickets loaded on the HSL card, mobile tickets, day tickets and two-hour tickets loaded on a single-charge cards as well as paper single and day tickets. As there are no card readers for passenger use on the buses, you need to give your HSL card to the driver in order to buy a value ticket, register your season ticket or your transfer.
HSL single tickets are usually not sold on U line buses.
However, HSL’s tickets are sold on the following buses operated by Pohjolan Liikenne and Nurmijärven Linja: 192*, 280*, 346*, 455, 456, 457, 465, 953 and 955
*The routes are also operated by other operators who do not sell HSL single tickets.
Bus operators’ season, multi-journey and single tickets are not accepted on HSL public transport.
Child or adult ticket?
When you travel with an HSL ticket (please note the exceptions to the sales of single tickets), HSL’s age limits apply, i.e. children aged 7 to 17 travel with children’s tickets, 18’s and over need an adult ticket. Children under 7 years of age can travel free of charge if accompanied by a person who is traveling with an HSL ticket.
When traveling with operators' own tickets on U line buses, child single tickets are available for children aged 4 to 11 years, i.e. over 12s need an adult-rate single ticket.
Prams and pets
Prams and pets cannot usually be carried on U line buses free of charge. Prams cannot be taken aboard the buses because there is no space for them. On U line buses, the bus operators’ own regulations are applied to the transport of prams and pets. The right to travel without a ticket when traveling with a child aged 0-6 in a pram or pushchair, applied on regional bus services, does not apply to U line buses.
