Changes to bus routes and timetables in Tapiola 28 January
Bus routes will be diverted in the center of Tapiola due to
construction work as of 28 January. Also the timetables of several
bus routes will change. The new routes and timetables are available
in the Journey Planner. Brochures detailing the changes are
available, for example, at the Citizens' offices in Espoo and HSL’s
service point at the Central Railway Station.
Merituulentie will be closed to traffic between Pohjantie and
Tapiolantie, and the bus terminal will be temporarily relocated at
Tapionaukio. The bus routes will be diverted to run along
Etelätuulentie, Revontulentie, Tapiolantie or Westendinkatu.
The Tapiola service routes P10-14 will be running along
Itätuulentie instead of Merituulentie. As the bus stop serving the
Tapiola service centre will be located on Itätuulentie in the
westbound direction, the direction of travel of bus P13 will be
reversed.
The diversions will remain in place until the end of 2015.
Tapiola is being redeveloped
An access tunnel for the West Metro and underground parking
facilities are being excavated in the center. A Metro station and
feeder bus terminal under Merituulentie are being constructed. Also
business premises are being renovated. The services in the center
of Tapiola will remain open during the construction period. The
first phase will be completed by the end of 2015 and the entire
redevelopment project by 2020.
