Public transport services over the Easter holidays

On Good Friday evening, tram routes 7A and 7B will be
diverted due to an Easter play performed in the streets of
Helsinki. On the night of Easter Saturday to Sunday, Finland will
switch to summer time and this will affect some train
services. There will be additional night-time services over the
Easter holidays. HSL’s customer service line will be open
throughout the Easter holidays.  

Transport services on Good Friday

On Good Friday 29 March, a Sunday service will operate. The SS
services on U line buses will not operate. There will be additional
bus services on the night of Friday to Saturday.  

 

Additional bus services on Good Friday

Also, the following additional commuter trains will be
running: 

I trains from Helsinki at 10.46pm, 11.16pm and 11.46pm; I
trains from Tikkurila at 11.46pm and 0.16am.
N trains from Helsinki at 0.01am, 1.01am, 2.01am and 3.01am; N
trains from Kerava at 0.45am, 1.45am, 2.45am and 3.45am.
T trains from Helsinki at 2.31am and 4.01am; T trains from
Riihimäki at 0.37am and 1.37am. 
H train from Riihimäki at 11.14pm
L trains from Helsinki at 2.47am and 3.47am. 

Tram routes 7A and 7B will be diverted on Good Friday evening
due to the Via Crucis Easter play.  The play will begin at the
Kaisaniemi Park at 9pm and run until 11pm. The procession will
proceed from the park to the House of Estates (Säätytalo) and
further to the Senate Square, and it may cause traffic jams. Up to
15,000 spectators are expended to attend the event. 

Trams 7A and 7B will be running via Central Railway Station and
Kaisaniemenkatu instead of Kruununhaka approximately from 9.20pm.
The trams will run along Mannerheimintie, Kaivokatu,
Kaisaniemenkatu and Siltasaarenkatu, i.e. they will not run around
the Senate Square. 

Transport services on Easter Saturday 

On Easter Saturday 30 March, a Saturday service will
operate. Finland will switch to summer time on the Saturday/Sunday
night, i.e. clocks are turned forward an hour at 3am (3am >
4am).

On Easter Saturday, the Saturday service will run on winter
time. Beginning from Sunday morning service, transport services
will operate on summer time. There will be additional bus services
on the night of Saturday to Sunday.  

 

Additional bus services when switching to summer
time

Trains leaving before 3am will mainly run on winter time and
trains leaving after 3am will run on summer time. There are,
however, some changes to L, N and T trains:

N trains from Helsinki to Kerava at 3.01am and from Kerava to
Helsinki at 3.45am are cancelled. 
T trains from Helsinki to Riihimäki at 4.01am and from
Riihimäki to Helsinki at 4.14am will run on summer time and they
will replace the cancelled N trains. 
An additional N train will operate from Helsinki to Kerava at
5.01am (summer time). 
The 3.47am L train from Helsinki to Kirkkonummi will be
replaced by a 4.47am (summer time) L train.

On Easter Sunday 31 March, a Sunday service will operate. The SS
services on U line buses will not operate. There will be additional
bus services on the night of Sunday to Monday.

Maundy Thursday and Easter Monday

On Maundy Thursday 28 March, a Friday service will operate. In
Espoo, the service routes will operate a normal Thursday service.
On Easter Monday 1 April, a Sunday service will operate. The SS
services on U line buses will be running.

HSL’s customer services over Easter

On Maundy Thursday 28 March, HSL’s service point at the Central
Railway Station will be open until 5pm. The service point in
Itäkeskus will be open until 5.15pm and the service point in Pasila
until 4pm. All service points will be closed from Good Friday until
Easter Monday. HSL’s customer service line on 09 4766 4000 will be
open on Thursday from 1am to 7pm and over the Easter holidays from
9am to 5pm.
