Trams in Hakaniemi run along Hämeentie

The second phase of the tram stop renovation in Hakaniemi
starts on Monday 17 June. The renovation continues at the tram
stops on the Eläintarhanlahti side of the stop area and trams will
switch to run along Hämeentie. The diversion routes will remain in
place until the end of September.
 

From 17 June to 30 September, trams are not able to run from the
Hakaniemi Market Square in the direction of Ympyrätalo and
Porthaninkatu. Trams 1, 1A, 3B and 9 run along Hämeentie.    All
trams stop at the Hakaniemi Market Square side of the stop area.
Please note that the stops can be accessed only from the south
side.

Trams 3B and 9 run via Helsinginkatu and Läntinen Brahenkatu,
from where they continue to their normal routes. There is a
temporary pair of tram stops on Helsinginkatu, close to the
Hämeentie junction.

Trams 1 and 1A run along Hämeentie to Mäkelänkatu.

There is no tram service in Kallio and on Sturenkatu. In
addition, tram 9 will not serve Fleminginkatu and part of Aleksis
Kiven katu.  Bus 51 runs from Hakaniemi to Karhupuisto on weekdays
and Saturdays.

There are no changes to the diversion routes of buses 23, 51 and
03N.

is completed, i.e. until the end of September. 

New tram tracks

Tram tracks and the base of the tram stop area on
Siltasaarenkatu in Hakaniemi are replaced during the summer. Also
the lid of the ticket hall and waterproofing under the tracks is
replaced.The tracks to be replaced run partly above the ticket hall
of the Hakaniemi metro station. 

The project is divided into two phases. In the second phase
beginning on 17 June, the tracks are replaced, the track bed is
repaired and tram stops on the Eläintarhanlahti side of the stop
area are refurbished. The second phase will run from June to the
end of September.
