Changes to bus routes in Söderkulla and Östersundom from 1 January 2015

There will be changes to bus services in South Sipoo at the beginning of 2015. There will be changes also to the use of the HSL Travel Card on some of the routes.

Changes from 1 January 2015:

  • The current U line routes 840, 845, 850 and 870 will no longer be U line routes and consequently HSL’s Travel Card will not be accepted on the routes. Only Matkahuolto tickets will be accepted.
  • New U line route 848 (Kamppi-Pasila-Viikki-moottoritie-Söderkulla-Porvoo) will start to operate. HSL’s Travel Card will be accepted on the route. The bus will run from the Kamppi long-distance terminal via Pasila and Viikki to Porvoonväylä and Uusi Porvoontie. The bus then continues along Uusi Porvoontie through Söderkulla to Porvoo. The bus will provide access to Pasila and the Meilahti Hospital. The bus will have some twenty services per direction Monday to Friday, eleven services on Saturdays and six on Sundays. The bus will run every 30 minutes in peak times and at other times on average every 60 minutes.
  • U line 871 will be withdrawn. The route has only had three services a day from Helsinki to Porvoo.
  • Route 841 will have additional services from Söderkulla to Itäkeskus on 1, 3, 4 and 6 January.

Changes from 7 January 2015:

The timetables of bus 841 will change. New timetable 

Services will be start to run every 30 minutes instead of every 20 minutes to improve the punctuality of the service.

On route 987B (Nikkilä – Pornainen), the 3.10pm service from Nikkilä (It. Jokipuisto) on school days starts to run via Laukkoski. The change is due to the completion of the construction of Mika Waltari School in Jokimäki.
