On New Year’s Eve, 31 December, a Friday service will operate on HSL public transport. There will be additional services on the New Year night.
Additional bus services on New Year’s Eve
On New Year’s Eve, the Metro will operate two hours longer than usual. The Metro will run on the Mellunmäki and Vuosaari lines every 10 minutes until the end of service, i.e. the Metro will run between Ruoholahti and Itäkeskus every 5 minutes. The extended night service on the Metro will be withdrawn at the beginning of 2015.
Last Metro services 31 December - 1 January
The following additional commuter trains will be running:
L trains from Helsinki at 4.47am and from Kirkkonummi at 1.47am, 2.47am, 3.47am and 4.47am.
N trains from Helsinki at 3.31am and 4.31am
T train from Helsinksi at 5.01am
On New Year’s Day, 1 January, a Sunday service will operate. On U lines, the SS services will not operate.
Transport services on the Epiphany
On 5 January, a Friday service will operate. Also night buses and commuter trains will be running. Night Metro services will not run.
On Epiphany, 6 January, a Sunday service will operate.
Alterations to U line bus services:
- On route 280, the 11.45pm Friday service from Veikkola will not run on Friday 2 January and on 5 January.
- On routes 190 and 280, the SS services will not run on Sunday 4 January.
- On route 280, the SS service from Helsinki at 8.30pm will run on 4 January but not on 6 January.
- Route 643N is withdrawn from 28 December, i.e. the route will no longer run on the New Year night.
HSL customer services over the New Year and on the Epiphany
HSL’s service point at the Central Railway Station will be open on 31 December until 5pm. On New Year’ Day the service point will be closed. The Itäkeskus service point will be open on New Year’s Eve until 5.15pm, on New Year’s Day it will be closed. On Monday 5 January, the service point at the Central Railway Station will be open 7.30am-5pm, the Itäkeskus service point 10am-5.15pm. Both of the service points will be closed on Tuesday 6 January.
HSL customer service line on 09 4766 4000 will be open on New Year's Eve as usual 9am-7pm, on New Year’s Day 9am-5pm. On 5 January, the line will be open 7am-7pm, on Epiphany 9am-5pm. HSL’s Penalty Fares Office closes at 2pm on 31 December, on 5 January as usual at 4pm.
