There will be changes to commuter train services over the Easter holiday 14-17 April. On Saturday and Sunday, some K and N trains will only run between Tikkurila and Kerava. Some trains to Helsinki will not stop at Ilmala and some trains from Helsinki to Tikkurila will not stop at Käpylä and Oulunkylä.
Changes to train services between Helsinki and Kerava
On Saturday 15 April about 7am-10pm and on Sunday 16 April about 10am-10pm, K and N trains will run only between Tikkurila and Kerava. At these times, passengers from south of Tikkurila must first take an I, R or Z train to Tikkurila.
- On Saturday 15 April, N and K trains from Helsinki at 7.18am-9.48pm are cancelled and these trains run only between Tikkurila and Kerava. From Kerava, N and K trains at 7.02am-9.47pm terminate at Tikkurila.
- On Sunday 16 April, N trains from Helsinki at 10.18am-9.48pm are cancelled and these trains run only between Tikkurila and Kerava. From Kerava, N trains at 10.17am-9.47pm terminate at Tikkurila.
In addition, I and N trains to Tikkurila will not stop at Käpylä and Oulunkylä:
- On Friday 14 April 11pm-1.30am
- On Saturday 14 April 10.30am-8pm and 10pm-1.30am
- On Sunday 16 April, 6.30am-10am and 10pm-1.30am
- On Monday 17 April, 6.30am-10am
At these times, passengers from Käpylä and Oulunkylä can get to Tikkurila by changing trains at Pasila. Passengers going from Helsinki and Pasila to Käpylä and Oulunkylä can change trains at Pukinmäki. In addition, trains in both directions will use only one track at Käpylä and Oulunkylä at night 1.50am-5am and on Saturday 6.30am-7.20am, which means that southbound trains will be delayed by some five minutes.
Changes at Ilmala
Some trains to Helsinki will not stop at Ilmala over the Easter weekend.
A and I trains to Helsinki will not stop at Ilmala from Sat 15 April 10pm to Mon 17 April 5am.
L trains to Helsinki will not stop at Ilmala on Sunday 16 April 2am-12noon.
In addition, there will be changes to departure platforms at Pasila station. Check the timetable displays at the station for up-to-date information about departure platforms.
Alternative routes:
From Ilmala to Pasila or Helsinki:
Take an A or P train to Huopalahti and change to a train going to Helsinki.
You can also take bus 23 or 23N from the Ilmalanrinne or Ilmalantori bus stop.
From the direction of Huopalahti to Ilmala:
Take a train to Pasila and change to an A or P train going in the opposite direction.
Changes at the Central Railway Station
At the Helsinki Central Railway Station, track 1-3 will be closed from Friday 14 April 11pm to Monday 17 April 10am. This will affect I and N trains.
