Information for cyclists
Cycling is a fast and emission-free way to get around, easy to combine with public transport. What’s more, cycling is great for fitness. City bikes are a good alternative to using your own bike; you can hop on a city bike in Helsinki, Espoo and Vantaa.

Leave your bike at a Park & Ride
You can easily combine cycling and public transport: leave your bike at a Park & Ride and continue by train, bus, metro or tram. Bike parking is free of charge and there are no time limits.
You can view the locations of Park & Ride sites and the number of bike parking spaces on a map.
Bicycles on public transport
You can take your bike with you on commuter trains, the metro and on the Suomenlinna ferry. Bicycles are not allowed on buses and trams because there is no room for bikes to be carried safely. However, we are conducting a trial on Tuusula buses in summer 2021 where you are allowed to take your bicycle with you on board - read more on this page!
Folding bikes, bikes of children under school age and children’s mobility aids can be carried on all modes of transport.
