Kruunuvuorenranta ferry service to start on 1 May

A ferry service will start running between Kruunuvuorenranta in Laajasalo and Meritullintori in Kruununhaka on Monday 1 May. HSL’s AB tickets are valid on the ferry. Buy your ticket in advance or use the HSL card or HSL app to buy your ticket. Tickets are not sold onboard the ferry or at the ferry piers.

The ferry services are managed by Suomenlinnan Liikenne Oy, a subsidiary of Metropolitan Area Transport Ltd. The services are jointly operated by Sun Ferry and JT-Line.

The first ferry will depart from the Kruunuvuorenranta ferry pier located at Saaristolaivankatu 11 on 1 May at 7.15am. The ferry timetables and route will be available in the Journey Planner before the start of the service.

The ferry takes about 20 minutes in one direction. In the summer, the ferry will operate every day. In the winter, it will operate Monday to Friday about 7am to 10pm. The ferry will run every 50 minutes. On winter weekends, the ferry will operate about 10am to 6pm. The winter timetables will run from the beginning of November.

Bicycles can be taken on the ferry at no additional cost, provided there is room. At Meritullintori, access to the ferry is step-free. The temporary ferry pier at Kruunuvuorenranta is not fully accessible, and the staff will assist with boarding the ferry if required. The ferry services are operated with environmentally friendly renewable diesel (HVO).

According to the decision of the City Board of Helsinki, the demand and need for ferry services will be assessed during the operation of the services, and the ferry will continue at most until the completion of the Kruunusillat Bridges. Services in 2024 will be confirmed in connection with the preparation of the budget for the City of Helsinki.
