How auto-renewing season tickets work

Determining the appropriate zones

When a beneficiary receives an invitation to activate an auto-renewing season ticket, strong authentication is required to complete the activation. In this context, the official home address of the beneficiary is checked. We use the home address to determine the zones for the beneficiary’s journey from home to work, and we automatically grant the beneficiary a season ticket for the right zones.

Automatic renewal of a season ticket

Once an employee has activated their auto-renewing season ticket on the HSL app, the ticket will be automatically renewed. The season ticket is automatically renewed as long as the employee’s commuter benefit granted via the HSL Business Portal is valid. 

The season ticket is always renewed two days before the current season ticket expires. You can see the next date of charge in the HSL Business Portal. If you wish to terminate the season ticket at the end of the current season ticket, you must terminate the ticket before the next date of charge.
