HSL has a long history of collaborating as an event partner in the metropolitan area. We work in cooperation with event organizers in order to arrange public transport tickets and organize additional public transport services.

Additional transport services for public events

HSL organizes additional transport services for public events, if needed. Any additional services will be arranged on the basis of the estimated number of passengers while also taking into account for instance the time when the event ends.

How do we organize additional transport services?

HSL only provides public transport services that are open to all. The services are primarily organized along the regular route network. Additional transport services are arranged by means of additional vehicles and departures or by extending the service hours of individual services.

If necessary, we will arrange diversion routes for services near the venue in case streets need to be closed or some other traffic restrictions must be imposed because of the event.

How to notify HSL of an event

We request that event organizers notify HSL of upcoming events by email at infra@hsl.fi. We must be informed of the need for special traffic arrangements and additional services at least two months before the event.

The following information should be included in the notification regarding the need for additional public transport services:

Name and organizer of the event
Event location
Estimated number of participants
Event schedule
Contact details of the person in charge of traffic arrangements
Entrances to and exits from the venue depicted e.g. on a map
Information on whether the event is going to cause any restrictions to the surrounding traffic routes

In return for organizing additional services, we expect HSL to be featured in the marketing materials for the event in question. Additionally, we may also require some other form of reimbursement, such as free tickets.
