Only mobility scooters for people with impaired mobility are allowed on the Metro, trains and the Suomenlinna ferry

Electric, two-wheeled sit-on mopeds or scooters are not allowed on HSL public transport. However, electric scooters designed as mobility aids for passengers with disabilities are allowed on the Metro, trains, and the Suomenlinna ferry.

Electric mopeds and scooters have large batteries, which poses a fire safety risk in public transport. Additionally, they take up a lot of space.

Even electric scooters for passengers with impaired mobility are not allowed on buses or trams, as they do not fit in the space reserved for wheelchair users.

We have updated this information in the HSL Public Transport Conditions of Carriage and Ticket Terms and Conditions.
