In March, HSL published its Mobile app for Android phones in November. A ticket app for IOS devices will be published at the year end.
“Mobile ticket is an easy way to pay for journeys: you can now have a ticket machine in your pocket,” says Risto Vaattovaara from HSL’s Passenger Services Department.
Single tickets purchased with the HSL Mobile ticket app cost the same as single tickets purchased from drivers or conductors. On buses, the mobile ticket is shown to the driver. On other modes of transport - the Metro, trams, commuter trains and Suomenlinna ferry – the ticket is shown to the conductor or ticket inspector upon request.
One and two-zone mobile tickets are valid for 80 minutes from the moment of purchase. Three-zone extended regional tickets valid in the entire HSL area are valid for 100 minutes. Just like SMS tickets, mobile tickets must be purchased and they must arrive on the HSL Mobile ticket app before the passenger boards a vehicle or enters the Metro or Suomenlinna ferry platform area.

During the next year, HSL will introduce digital services for city bikes, the next version of the mobile ticket as well as complete rea time information in the entire HSL area. Online loading of Travel Cards will become available approximately at the beginning of 2017. HSL is actively developing its digital services and searching for new partners in cooperation.
