At the meeting, you will hear about the latest land use, housing strategy and transport system draft plans, which outline the future structure of the metropolitan area. You can learn about the key elements of the plans and how to have your say on them. The public meeting will be held
- On Thursday 6 November 6pm – 20pm
- at the Auditorium of the National Museum, Mannerheimintie 34, Helsinki.
Anyone interested in transport and the development of the region are welcome. The meeting is free to attend.
The starting point for the plans has been that in 2050, the region will be home to 2 million people. Every third Finn will be living in the region. The region is composed by 14 municipalities: Helsinki, Espoo, Vantaa, Kauniainen, Hyvinkää, Järvenpää, Kerava, Kirkkonummi, Mäntsälä, Nurmijärvi, Pornainen, Sipoo, Tuusula and Vihti.
The region's municipalities, Helsinki-Uusimaa Regional Council and Helsinki Region Environmental Services Authority HSY are responsible for the preparation of the Helsinki Region Land Use Plan and Housing Strategy. Helsinki Region Transport is responsible for the preparation of the Helsinki Region Transport System Plan 2015 together with the State transport and environmental authorities.
