Terminal entrance at the Airport to open on a trial basis on 18 December

The direct access between the terminal and the train station at the Helsinki Airport will be opened on a trial basis on 18 December 2015. At first, access will be by lifts.The temporary arrangements at the airport train station will continue as the escalators between the airport terminal and the station will open during spring 2016. The free shuttle buses currently running between the Tietotie entrance and the airport terminal will stop running on 27 December 2015.

The access between the airport terminal and train station will be opened on a trial basis in the morning of 18 December. Access will be by lifts. There are two lifts at the entrance to the terminal.

- The installation of escalators started on 7 December and the work will continue until spring 2016, says the Finnish Transport Agency Project Manager Juha Kansonen.

In addition to the lifts, passengers can use the Tietotie entrance, from where the walking distance to Terminal 1 is about 350 meters and to Terminal 2 about 700 meters.

The free shuttle buses currently running between the Tietotie entrance and the terminals will stop running on 27 December 2015. The buses run approximately every five minutes.

Passengers are advised to allow time for moving around the station in particular before Christmas when the number of travelers is high.
