HSL and HKL will be testing higher frequency metro services to Matinkylä at peak times on 28 March.

Three out of four metro trains will run to Matinkylä in the morning and afternoon peaks on Thursday 28 March. The goal is to test in particular the susceptibility to disruptions of higher frequency services. A similar test was conducted on 30 August 2018.

Usually every other train runs to Matinkylä, which means that at peak times, trains arrive at and depart from Matinkylä every five minutes.
On Thursday 28 March, the aim is that in the morning and evening peaks, every other train usually terminating at Tapiola will continue to Matinkylä. This means that trains will run between Tapiola and Matinkylä every 2.5 or every 5 minutes. There will be six more trains running to Matinkylä per hour than as usual.
