Interruptions to card transactions for Nordea and OP customers in the HSL app and HSL card service 5-6 September

There will be interruptions in OP’s and Nordea’s banking services over the weekend 5-6 September. The interruptions will affect payments in the HSL app and the HSL card service.

OP’s online services and payments will be unavailable from Saturday 5 September 10pm to Sunday 6 September 10am. The service interruption is due to maintenance. More information on OP’s website.

Nordea’s banking services will be interrupted on Sunday 6 September from 4am. According to Nordea, the break affecting cards is estimated to end by 2pm and the break affecting other services by 5pm. The service interruption is due to changes made to Nordea’s data systems and testing of those systems. More information on Nordea’s website.

Effects on HSL services

During the service interruptions, online banking credentials of OP and Nordea cannot be used for strong authentication in the HSL app or the HSL card service. In addition, debit/credit cards issued by these banks cannot be used to pay for tickets.

During the service interruptions, you can buy tickets via the HSL app using mobile payment (in which case the tickets are charged to your phone bill) or payment cards issued by other banks as well as MobilePay and Pivo. In the HSL card service, you can pay using the online banking and payment cards of other banks as well as MobilePay. It is advisable to draw some cash before the service interruptions so that you can buy tickets from various sales point as well as from some ticket machines.

Please note that MobilePay and Pivo are also based on card payments or payments from your bank account which means that during the service interruptions, you can only use MobilePay and Pivo if you have a payment card or account issued by another bank.
