Tram route 2 will be diverted in the city center from Mon 12 October 2am to Mon 26 October 5am due to excavation work. Tram route 3 will be diverted 16-18 October.
From 2am on Mon 12 October to the end of service on Thu 15 October, tram 2 will run in both directions via Simonkatu and Mannerheimintie. The tram will not serve the Central Railway Station and Mikonkatu.
From Fri 16 October to Sun 18 October, there will be another diversion in place: in the direction of Eira, tram 2 will not be able to run to Eteläranta via Aleksanterinkatu and the Market Square. Instead, the tram will run along Simonkatu, Mannerheimintie, Bulevardi, Fredrikinkatu and Tehtaankatu. From Eira to Töölö, the tram will run from Eteläsatama along Aleksanterinkatu and Mannerheimintie to Simonkatu.
Tram 3 will be diverted to run to the north from Olympia Terminal, then along Aleksanterinkatu and Mannerheimintie to Kaivokatu, from where it will continue to Hakaniemi. From the direction of Hakaniemi, the tram will run via Eira as usual from Bulevardi in the direction of Kaivopuisto. Trams running from Olympia Terminal via Ullanlinna to Bulevardi will not run via Eira.
From Mon 10 October to 5am on Mon 26 October, tram 2 will again be diverted to run along Simonkatu and Mannerheimintie in both directions. In other words, the tram will not serve Kaivokatu and Mikonkatu.
