Tram routes diverted due to Helsinki Samba Carnaval on 6 June

Tram routes will be diverted in downtown Helsinki on Saturday 6 June approximately from 2.45pm to 5.30pm due to the Helsinki Samba Carnaval. During the parade, trams cannot run along Aleksanterinkatu between the Senate Square and Mannerheimintie.

In the southern inner city, tram routes 2 and 3 will run only in one direction.

The parade will proceed from the Senate Square via Pohjoisesplanad to Mannerheimintie and continue along Aleksanterinkatu to Mikonkatu. The event is expected to attract a large audience.

Tram routes 2, 3, 4, 4T, 7A and 7B will be diverted approximately between 2.45pm and 5.30pm.

Tram 2 will run from Kamppi along Simonkatu to Mannerheimintie and Bulevardi, continuing along the route of tram 3 to the Olympia Terminal. From the terminal, the tram will continue via the Market Square, Kruununhaka and Kaisaniemi to the Central Railway Station and to its normal route along Simonkatu.

Tram 3 will run from Hakaniemi along its normal route via the Central Railway Station and Bulevardi to the Olympia Terminal, continuing via the Market Square and Kruununhaka to its normal route to Hakaniemi.

In other words, trams 2 and 3 will run the southern end of their routes only counter clockwise from Mannerheimintie via Bulevardi, Eira and the Market Square to Kruununhaka. The trams will change route numbers at the Olympia Terminal.

Trams 4 and 4T will run via the Central Railway Station, Liisankatu and Snellmaninkatu. The trams will not serve Aleksanterinkatu between Mannerheimintie and Snellmaninkatu.

Trams 7A and 7B will run via the Central Railway Station and will not serve Kruununhaka.
