Tallink will start selling HSL’s tickets on its Megastar and Star ships on the Helsinki–Tallinn route from 1 December 2017.

This cooperation aims to make both domestic and foreign passengers’ public transport journeys easier. When passengers buy their public transport tickets in advance, it is easier for them to take public transport from the West Harbor to the city center and back.

The two Tallink Shuttle ships carry thousands of passengers every day.

“The transfers from the harbor to the city center are part of the travel experience. We want to contribute to making our passengers’ next journey to the bus or train station or airport as smooth as possible,” says Jani Mäkelä, the Head of Product Management at Tallink Silja.

“We really appreciate this cooperation agreement with Tallink. Ticketing cooperation makes things easier for customers.  In addition, the punctuality of tram services improves when a larger number of passengers have bought their tickets in advance,” says Matias Sarkkinen, Sales Manager at HSL.

HSL’s advance purchase single tickets will be sold at the information desks on the ships. Passengers activate their tickets upon boarding a vehicle by showing it to a card reader. The tickets available include city internal single and tickets for adults and children, as well as corresponding regional tickets.

In addition to single and day tickets, passengers can use Travel Cards and HSL mobile tickets on all HSL’s modes of transport: trams, trains, the Metro, buses and the Suomenlinna ferry.

Trams 7 and 6T run between the West Harbor and Helsinki Central Railway Station.

The fastest routes and all timetables are available in the Journey Planner.
