Online top-up of HSL cards temporarily closed from 31 December

Do you top up your HSL card online? The online top-up of HSL cards was temporarily closed on 31 December. We will later open a new HSL Ticket Store, where you will be able to buy season tickets and value for all zones and customer groups. Value and tickets purchased from the new HSL Ticket Store will no longer need to be transferred separately to the HSL card. The goal is to open the new HSL Ticket Store in May 2025.

Now is a good time to switch to the HSL app. The app available for smartphones free of charge provides an easy way to purchase all tickets. The app also provides you with routes and the latest news on public transport.

Where can you top up your HSL card before the new ticket store opens?

You can top up your HSL card at R-kiosks and Alepa, S-market and Prisma stores, as well as at HSL and municipal service points. The sales and service points charge a service fee for top-ups. You can top up your HSL card without a service fee at the large HSL ticket machines (see the locations of the ticket machines here).

Unfortunately, the HSL card cannot be topped up online until the new ticket store opens.

You can no longer browse your HSL card purchase and use history in the closed online top-up service. For tax returns, you can find the 2024 ticket prices at hsl.fi.

Before using a ticket purchased online via the HSL card service, you must transfer it to your HSL card. You can make the transfer without a service fee at the large HSL ticket machines, R-kiosks, and Alepa, S-market, and Prisma stores.

The new card readers and HSL Ticket Store are part of an extensive overhaul of the purchase of tickets and backend systems. Contactless payment is being introduced as a new option. It is especially suitable for occasional users of public transport and visitors. We will inform customers of all changes to our services well in advance as soon as the schedules are confirmed. The estimated schedule was updated on 15 January and on 14 March.
