HSL public transport in 2025–2026: Route changes due to planned works, more frequent tram services starting in the autumn

In 2025–2026, various repair, construction and maintenance works will affect public transport in the Helsinki region. Starting in autumn 2025, tram services will run more frequently and there will be targeted improvements to several bus routes. This and many other changes are set out in HSL’s Transport Service Plan, which the HSL Executive Board approved on Tuesday 14 January.

The plan outlines all planned changes to public transport in the Helsinki region from 2025 until the end of the winter timetable season in 2026. The Transport Service Plan is prepared annually.

Like last year, the approved plan includes major renovation projects that will cause service changes and disruptions. While no major new rail links will be opened during the plan’s period, trams 4 and 10 will start operating more frequently in autumn 2025. A trains will also start operating more frequently on Saturdays. Additionally, bus services will improve in areas such as Porttipuisto, Malmi, and Laajasalo in Helsinki, as well as Rykmentinportti in Tuusula.

HSL has developed the plan in collaboration with public transport experts from its member municipalities and with the municipal education administration.
