Track work will take place between Ilmala and Huopalahti stations in the evening and early morning 24–28 May. There will be changes and cancellations to A, E, L, X, I and P trains. Some of the trains running during the works will have extra carriages. You can see all cancelled trains as well as route and timetable changes on the Journey Planner.
There will also be platform changes for the trains. On the Ring Rail Line, there will be platform changes between Pasila and Kannelmäki, on the Coastal Line, between Pasila and Leppävaara. Please listen to station announcements and see station displays for up-to-date information.
I and P trains
I and P trains will operate a reduced service on the evening and night of Monday 24 May as well as on the evenings and nights of Wednesday 26 to Friday 28 May.
On the early morning of Thursday 27 May as well as on the night of Thursday 27 May/Friday 28 May, I and P trains are cancelled between Helsinki and Huopalahti. This means that the trains will only run from Helsinki via Tikkurila, Helsinki Airport and Myyrmäki to Huopalahti and back. AB tickets will exceptionally be accepted on journeys from stations between Pohjois-Haaga and Vantaankoski via zone C to Helsinki and vice versa.

Service changes in detail
Monday 24 May–Tuesday 25 May
P trains: only the trains departing from Helsinki at 8 and 38 minutes past the hour will operate between 9.08pm and 11.08pm. P trains will resume normal service from 11.23pm.
I trains: only the trains departing from Helsinki at 6 and 36 minutes past the hour will operate between 8.06pm and 11.36pm. However, the I trains from Helsinki at 10.36pm and 11.06pm are cancelled. In addition, the I train which usually departs from Helsinki Airport at 0.04am, will wait 10 minutes at the airport and run 10 minutes late from the airport onwards.
Tuesday 25 May–Wednesday 26 May
No changes to I and P trains.
Wednesday 26 May–Thursday 27 May
P trains: only the trains departing from Helsinki at 8 and 38 minutes past the hour will operate between 9.08pm and 11.08pm. P trains will resume normal service from 11.23pm. On Thursday morning, the P trains from Helsinki at 4.18am and 4.48am are cancelled between Helsinki and Huopalahti. In other words, the trains will depart from Huopalahti at 4.27am and 4.57am.
I trains: only the trains departing from Helsinki at 6 and 36 minutes past the hour will operate between 8.51pm and 11.36pm. However, the I trains from Helsinki at 8.36pm, 10.36pm and 11.06pm are cancelled. In addition, the I train which usually departs from Helsinki Airport at 0.04am, will wait 10 minutes at the airport and run 10 minutes late from the airport onwards.
On Thursday morning, there will be an additional I train from Helsinki via Tikkurila and Helsinki Airport to Huopalahti at 3.59am.
Thursday 27 May–Friday 28 May
P trains: only the trains departing from Helsinki at 8 and 38 minutes past the hour will operate between 7.08pm and 11.08pm. P trains will resume normal service from 11.23pm.
On Thursday evening, P trains from Helsinki are cancelled between Helsinki and Huopalahti from 11.48pm to 0.48am. The trains will depart from Huopalahti at 27 and 57 minutes past the hour. On Friday morning, the P trains from Helsinki at 4.18am and 4.48am are cancelled between Helsinki and Huopalahti. The trains will depart from Huopalahti at 4.27am and 4.57am.
I trains: only the trains departing from Helsinki at 6 and 36 minutes past the hour will operate between 6.36pm and 11.36pm. However, the I train from Helsinki at 7.36pm is cancelled.
On Thursday evening, I trains from Helsinki will be cancelled between Huopalahti and Helsinki from 10.36pm to 11.36pm. In other words, the trains will run to Huopalahti as usual. After the 10.58pm departure to Helsinki, the trains will not run from Huopalahti to Helsinki.
On Friday morning, there will be an additional I train from Helsinki via Tikkurila and Helsinki Airport to Huopalahti at 3.59am. Corresponding I trains will also run on Thursday night at 0.06am and 0.36am.
A, E, U, L and X trains
There will cancellations to A and E train services on the evenings of 24, 26 and 27 May. The 10.22pm X train from Siuntio will run 6 minutes late from Kirkkonummi to Helsinki on 24 May and 27 May.
On the evening and night of 24 May as well as on 26–28 May, some L trains will be replaced by U trains. U trains do not stop at stations between Leppävaara and Huopalahti nor at Ilmala station. Replacement bus services will not be provided but there are alternative regular bus services.
If you are going from Pasila to Ilmala, you can take bus 23, 50 or 59. There are also buses serving the other intermediate stations. For example, buses 200, 231N and 235N run from Mäkkylä station to Elielinaukio in Helsinki. You can search for bus links for your journey using the Journey Planner.
