There will be many changes to bus routes in West Helsinki as well as changes to crosstown bus routes at the start of the autumn timetable season, 16 August.
Bus route 52 will be revamped. The route will be turned into a frequently running crosstown route serving West Helsinki. The bus route will provide new links to trains, other trunk route services and to local services in Kannelmäki (e.g. Kanneltalo and the Kaari shopping center).
The new route of bus 52 is Otaniemi – Munkkiniemi – Huopalahti station – Kannelmäki – Kuninkaantammi.
The bus will run every day and it will replace the weekday bus service 552, which will be withdrawn. In Otaniemi, bus route 52 will run via Vuorimiehentie next to the metro station. A new pair of bus stops, “Kivimiehentie” (E2234 and E2235) will be introduced on Miestentie.
Bus route 52 will replace withdrawn bus route 43 on Perhekunnantie and in Kuninkaantammi. Bus route 52 will provide good interchange with trains, Hämeenlinnanväylä buses and the new trunk bus route 40 to the city center.

Bus route 52 will start running via the Eliel Saarisen tie tunnel, i.e. it will run under the Huopalahti station, in winter 2021. Until then, the bus will run via Tunnelitie. Trunk bus route 550 will return to Huopalahti station at the same time.
Bus routes 553 and 553K will continue to run between Malmi and Maunula.
Between Arabia and Haaga, the withdrawn section of bus route 52 will be replaced by a new weekday bus route 53, Arabia – Oulunkylä – Metsälä – Pohjois-Haaga – Pitäjänmäki – Uusmäki.
