Updated on 14 March: the service changes on weekday nights will remain in place at least until 12 May.
The disruptions do not apply on midweek holidays, that is, between the night of Maundy Thursday 6 April and the night of Easter Sunday 9 April or on the night of 30 April. On these nights, trains will run as usual.
R and T train services will be replaced with buses between Kerava and Järvenpää on weekday nights from the night of Sunday 8/Monday 9 January. The train services will be replaced with buses between 0.30am and 3.30am from the night of Sunday/Monday to the night of Thursday/Friday. According to estimate, the arrangement will last until 12 May. Replacement bus 969X will run between Kerava, Ainola and Järvenpää.
In addition, the 11.40pm R train from Helsinki between Sunday night and Thursday night will leave 5 minutes ahead of schedule from 8 January to 12 May.
The reason for the arrangement is track work with the purpose of increasing the number of rail tracks between Helsinki and Riihimäki.
However, on certain weekday nights in January, February and March, track work will be performed in Tikkurila instead of between Kerava and Jokela. On these nights, trains will not run between Tapanila and Kerava and replacement bus 699X will run between Malmi and Kerava.
