Tram routes 1 and 7 via Mäkelänkatu to be diverted at night 17–22 March

Tram routes 1 and 7 will be diverted at night between 10pm and 5am from Sunday 17 March to Friday 22 March. The trams will not run via Mäkelänkatu. The cause for the diversion is maintenance work on overhead power lines.

Tram 1 will run from Hämeentie to St Paul’s Church instead of Käpylä. The stops on Mäkelänkatu and Pohjolankatu will not be served. Tram route 1T will also be diverted.

Tram 7 will run from Sörnäinen via Helsinginkatu, Läntinen Brahenkatu, Sturenkatu and Aleksis Kiven katu to Pasila. In other words, the tram will follow the route of tram 9. The tram will run in the opposite direction from Pasila to Sörnäinen. The tram will run along its normal route between Pasila and Meilahti Hospital. The stops on Mäkelänkatu and Radanrakentajantie will not be served. Additionally, from the direction of Sörnäinen to Pasila, the tram will not run via bay 13, but passengers can board the tram from bay 11, which is located on the Helsinginkatu side.
