A new bus route, 22K, will begin operating between Punavuori and Katajaharju on 12 August. The new route will run from the Ruoholahti Metro Station in the direction of Kataharju via the business area in Salmisaarenranta on weekday mornings. The bus will run to the terminus of route 26 (“Energia-aukio”) and then head back.

In addition, the stop at the Ruoholahti Metro Station served by route 26 in the direction of Salmisaari will be relocated from the tram stop to bay 3 (H1301), which is also served by routes 22 and 22K. In the future, bus routes 22, 22K and 26 will serve the same stop in Ruoholahti in the direction of Salmisaari.

The idea behind the change is to alleviate crowding for morning peak hour services on route 26 and to make the use of various bus routes easier for passengers in Ruoholahti. In addition to the above-mentioned routes, bus route 21 runs from Kamppi in the direction of Salmisaari as often as every seven minutes during peak hours on weekday mornings.
