A new route 849 Kamppi–Porvoo will be introduced for U-line buses heading towards Porvoo. The bus will depart from Kamppi and run via Mannerheimintie, Helsinginkatu, Sturenkatu and Hämeentie, after which the bus will run to Lahdenväylä and continue along the former route of bus 848 to Porvoo via Söderkulla. The bus will no longer run via Pasila.
The route of bus 848 Kamppi–Porvoo will be shortened and the bus will no longer run to Kamppi. The new route will run between Töölöntulli and Porvoo. From Töölöntulli, the bus will run via Reijolankatu to its current route on Nordenskiöldinkatu and then continue via Pasila and Söderkulla to Porvoo. Individual services will be operated under route number 848A to Kamppi.
The route changes are due to traffic congestion on Mannerheimintie, which affects the punctuality of the bus routes. The new routes and shortened journeys aim to ensure that the operator's services stay on schedule better.
