The City of Helsinki is conducting a summer street experiment around Fleminginkatu, Porthaninkatu, and Vaasankatu in Kallio. The aim is to enhance the pedestrian environment and overall comfort in the area. Vehicle traffic in the area will be restricted. In the autumn, the routes for buses 73, 74, and 502 will change when the summer street arrangements are removed. We will announce the exact date of these changes later.
Buses 73 and 74 rerouted towards Sörnäinen
Buses 73 and 74 will be rerouted towards Sörnäinen via Viides linja and Hämeentie. Their new terminus will be the "Agricolankatu" (H2340) stop on the south side of Kaarlenkatu. The buses will no longer serve the current terminus, "Karhupuisto" (H2143) on Fleminginkatu, nor the "Helsinginkatu" (H2150) stop. Instead, they will serve the "Haapaniemi"(H2407) stop on Hämeentie along the new route.
The timetables will not change.
Bus 502 will run towards Kallio via Eläintarhantie
Bus 502 will be rerouted towards Kallio via Wallininkatu and Eläintarhantie. Its terminus will be the "Kallion virastotalo" (H2129) stop on Porthaninrinne. The "Castréninkatu" (H0228), "Kallion virastotalo" (H0226) and "Karhupuisto" (H2143, terminus) stops will not be served. Additionally, the bus will not serve the "Karhupuisto" terminus and "Kallion virastotalo" (H2508) stop on Porthaninkatu towards Leppävaara.
There will also be minor changes of 1 to 3 minutes to the timetables due to the rerouting. Up-to-date timetables are available in the Journey Planner.
