As the street work in Siltasaarenkatu progresses, traffic arrangements in Hakaniemi will change. Buses to Railway Square will return to their usual lane towards the city center and resume using bay 11. This stop is located on the opposite side of the tram stops from the current stop (bay 15).
Routes towards the north will remain unchanged.
Street work on Siltasaarenkatu also includes replacement of tram tracks
During the work on Siltasaarenkatu, the water and sewer systems and other old utility infrastructure, will be replaced. Additionally, the tram tracks on Siltasaarenkatu between Hakaniementori Market Square and the Pitkäsilta Bridge will be replaced, and new switches will be installed at the intersection of Siltasaarenkatu and Hakaniemenranta. The work is part of the construction of the Kruunusillat tramway, which will connect Laajasalo, Korkeasaari, and Kalasatama to Hakaniemi in 2027.
As there are no tram services across the Pitkänsilta Bridge, passengers are advised to use the Metro or buses for journeys between the city center and Hakaniemi. Bus routes in Hakaniemi will remain unchanged until the work is completed, but there may be changes to stop locations.
