The feature is initially available on the Journey Planner on HSL’s website. It provides step-by-step guidance throughout the journey, showing the correct stops, transfer connections, and any service changes or diversions. The feature uses visual notifications to make traveling as smooth and stress-free as possible.
"We want to make public transport more accessible to everyone. This new feature particularly assists new users in navigating and exploring unfamiliar places more easily," says HSL's Information Manager Joona Packalén.
The feature has been developed in close cooperation with users, and we will continue to improve it based on the feedback received.
Functions that facilitate travel:
- Notification of the start of the journey
- Walking route (includes Metro entrance identifiers)
- Information on the ticket required for the journey
- Prompt to board the vehicle
- Journey tracking, including duration and number of intermediate stops
- Feasibility of transfers
- Rerouting if a service is cancelled or a transfer is no longer possible within the planned time.
- Disruption alerts, i.e., service changes during the journey
- Notification of the end of the journey
