You can activate the discount on the HSL app once your enrollment information is updated in the My Studyinfo service. Your educational institution is responsible for updating the information. It is possible that your educational institution has not yet updated the information in the database.
If your entitlement to discount does not show on the app, you can try the following:
Log in to the My Studyinfo service maintained by the Finnish National Agency for Education at this address.
Check that you have authorized the disclosure of your information to HSL and that information on your enrollment has already been updated for the current year.
- Select “My studies” at the top of the page.
Select your current degree program in the drop-down menu.
It is not enough that your status is active (“aktiivinen”); select “lisätiedot” (additional information) to see your enrollment status for the term (“Lukuvuosi-ilmoittautuminen”). - Remember also to check in the drop-down menu under your name that you have agreed to the disclosure of your information in the “Tietojeni käyttö” (How is my data used?) section.
- If the authorization to disclose study information is no longer valid, you can renew it directly via this link.
If your information is up to date in the My Studyinfo service:
Log out of the HSL app via More -> Settings (Log out is at the bottom).
Log in to the app again using your HSL account.
Go to the ticket purchase menu and under customer group, select “Student”. Buy a new season ticket.
In some cases, you may have to delete and reinstall the app before purchasing the ticket.
NB! If you log out of the app or delete it from your phone, you will lose any valid single or day tickets. Therefore it is advisable that you do not log out of the HSL app before your ticket has expired and you have completed your journey.
