Changes from 6 April
Tram route 6 extended to Eiranranta
Tram route 6 will be extended from Hietalahdentori via Telakkakatu to Eiranranta from Tuesday 6 April. The following new stops will be introduced: “Telakanpuisto” (H0830 and H0831), “Munkkisaari” (H0828 and H0829) and “Eiranranta” (H0827 and H0826).
The tram will no longer serve the following stops in Hietalahti: “Hietalahdenkatu” (H0810), “Kalevankatu” (H0812), the terminus “Hietalahti” (H0811) and “Köydenpunojankatu” (H0809).
Tram route 6T withdrawn
Tram route 6T to the West Terminal will be withdrawn. The following stops will no longer be served: “Hietalahdenkatu” (H0810), “Kalevankatu” (H0812), the terminus “Hietalahti” (H0811), “Köydenpunojankatu” (H0809), “Huutokonttori” (H0297 and H0296), “Länsiterminaali 1” (H0236 and H0235) and the terminus “Länsiterminaali 2” (H0237 and H0238).
From 6 April to 2 May, the West Terminal will be served by replacement bus 7X. From 3 May, the West Terminal will be served by trams 7 and 9.
Bus 22 from Lauttasaari via Ruoholahti and Hietalahti to Punavuori will also provide alternative service (link to the Journey Planner).
Tram route 7 diverted to Hietalahti from 6 April to 2 May
Track and street work will be carried out around the West Terminal in preparation for the opening of the new section of tramway along Atlantinkatu and the Atlantinsilta Bridge on 3 May.
Tram 7 will run along Bulevardi to Hietalahti. The tram will serve the tram stops at Ylioppilastalo and on Bulevardi as well as tram stops in Hietalahti.
The tram will not serve the stops in Kamppi, on Ruoholahdenkatu and on Tyynenmerenkatu. Alternative service to Huutokonttori will be provided by tram 9 (link to the Journey Planner).
Replacement bus 7X from 6 April to 2 May
Replacement bus 7X (Hietalahti – Ruoholahti (M) – Saukonpaasi – West Terminal 2 and 1) will serve the West Terminal from 6 April to 2 May. The bus links with tram 7, the metro and trams 8 and 9.
All tram timetables will change on 6 April
The timetables for all tram routes will change due to the above changes. The new routes and timetables will be available in the Journey Planner from 8 March.
Changes from 3 May
Tram route 9 will be extended to the West Terminal
From Monday 3 May, tram 9 will run from Saukonpaasi in Jätkäsaari along Atlantinkatu and over the new Atlantinsilta Bridge to West Terminal 2. New stops will be introduced on Atlantinkatu: “Saukonkatu” (H0832 and H0833) and “Kanariankatu” (H0344 and H0343). The arrival stop at West Terminal 2 will be stop H0238, the departure stop H0237.
Trams 7 and 9 will switch route numbers at the West Terminal. In other words, tram 7 from the city center will continue from the terminal under route number 9 via Saukonpaasi to Pasila and vice versa. This arrangement will be in place until a turnaround loop at Bunkkeri is completed.
Both tram 7 and 9 will run via Kamppi to, for example, the Central Railway Station.
Tram 9 will no longer serve the terminus in Saukonpaasi (H0289 and H0294).
Tram 7 will resume its normal route
Tram 7 will resume its normal route via Kamppi and Tyynenmerenkatu to the West Terminal.
The tram will no longer serve the stops along the diversion route (i.e. the stops at Ylioppilastalo, on Bulevardi and in Hietalahti).
In the future, Hietalahti will be served by tram 6 to Hietalahdentori, trams 7 and 9 to Länsilinkki and bus 22 to Hietalahdenranta.
