Changes to R and T train services between Kerava and Riihimäki at night from Monday 7 to Tuesday 8 November

There will be changes to R and T train services on the night of Monday 7/Tuesday 8 November. Replacement bus 969X will run between Kerava and Riihimäki via the intermediate stations.

There will be changes to R and T train services on the night of Monday 7/Tuesday 8 November. Replacement bus 969X will run between Kerava and Riihimäki via the intermediate stations. 

Impact on R and T train services 7–8 November

From the direction of Helsinki

  • The 1.30am R train from Järvenpää to Riihimäki and the 3.04am T train from Järvenpää to Riihimäki are cancelled.
  • The 0.40am R train from Helsinki and the 1.51am T train from Helsinki will terminate at Kerava. At Kerava, passengers can change to replacement bus 969X leaving at 1.08am and 2.34am. The bus will run via the intermediate stations. At the moment, these services have been replaced with buses between Kerava and Järvenpää on other weekday nights as well (see our separate bulletin). However, on the night of Monday 7/Tuesday 8 November, the buses will run all the way to Riihimäki.

From the direction of Riihimäki

  • The 2.33am R train from Riihimäki (in Jokela at 3.13am) to Järvenpää is cancelled.
  • Replacement bus 969X will depart from Riihimäki at 2.48am and run via the intermediate stations (in Jokela 3.18am) to Kerava, where passengers can change to the 4.04am K train to Helsinki. The replacement bus will depart from Järvenpää at 3.38am. The 3.09am service of replacement bus 969X from Järvenpää to Kerava is cancelled.

All the above-mentioned R and T trains will be low-floor. Replacement bus 969X is also a low-floor bus.

You can board the buses also through the middle doors. You do not have show your valid ticket to the driver. You can use the same tickets as for the trains when travelling on a replacement bus, that is, valid tickets of both HSL and VR.
