In addition, all P trains will again run from Helsinki Airport via Tikkurila to Helsinki. All trains will also stop at Vehkala station. Samalla junien matka-ajat lyhenevät, kun ratatöiden aiheuttamat hidastukset junaliikenteeseen poistuvat.
The track works started on 2 May and they are part of a project to increase the rail capacity between Helsinki and Riihimäki and improve the reliability of services on the main line. There will also be changes to the timetables of buses serving the main line and Ring Rail Line stations as well as buses in Tuusula. The timetables of the following buses will change: 335, 335B, 400, 434, 443, 445, 571, 574, 576, 583, 584, 587, 623, 624, 631, 633N, 641, 642, 643, 665, 721, 731, 734, 736, 738, 739, 961, 963, 964, 965, 967, 972, 973, 975, 976, 977, 978 and 985.
The changes are made to ensure interchanges between buses and trains.
Track works are also underway in Ainola. These works affecting VR’s commuter services will continue and the related service alterations will be in place until 9 December. Ainola train station will be closed until 9 December and there are changes to R, Z, D and T train services. A replacement bus is running between Ainola and Järvenpää.
Works set to continue in Tikkurila next year
Finishing works will continue in Tikkurila until November. Next year works will continue at the north end of the rail yard.
