Weekend festival 5-6 August: the Metro runs two hours later than usual

The Metro will run two hours later than usual on the nights of Friday/Saturday and Saturday/Sunday due to the Weekend Festival. It is advisable to purchase your ticket in advance because the Metro station will be crowded both before and after the event. The event will also affect the route of bus 55 at late night.

The Metro will run two hours later than usual on Friday and Saturday. The trains will run on the Mellunmäki and Vuosaari lines every 10 minutes, i.e there will be a train between Ruoholahti and Itäkeskus every minutes. 

The last Metro service on Friday and Saturday nights:

From Ruoholahti to Vuosaari at 1.20am and from Ruoholahti to Mellunmäki at 01.25am  
From Kalasatama to Vuosaari approximately at 01.29am, from Kalasatama to Mellunmäki approximately at 1.34am  
From Mellunmäki to Ruoholahti at 1.05am, from Vuosaari to Ruoholahti at 1.10am  
From Itäkeskus to Ruoholahti at 1.16am  
From Kalasatama to Ruoholahti approximately at 1.24am  

Extra carriages will be added to commuter trains L and N on both nights.  

Helsinki bus route 55 diverted

On both evenings, the services from Rautatientori from 10.48pm to – 0.18am as well as services from Koskela from 10.50pm – 11.50pm will be diverted to run along   
…Haapaniemenkatu, Hämeentie, Kustaa Vaasan tie…  The bus will not serve Sörnäisten rantatie and Hermannin rantatie.

If you do not have a Travel Card, mobile tickets and day tickets are good options that can be purchased in advance. Ticket inspectors will be inspecting tickets also after the event.
