New operators for crosstown bus routes and bus routes in Vantaa and Vuosaari

Koiviston Auto Helsinki and Pohjolan Liikenne won contracts for a number of crosstown bus routes as well as bus routes in Vantaa and Vuosaari. The tendering process covered the services of 53 buses. The number of electric buses will increase as a result of the tendering.

The new contracts will take effect in August 2025. About 93 percent of the kilometers driven will be by electric buses, while the requirement in the call for tenders was about 74 percent. This means that emissions will be reduced even more than we were aiming for.

The operating costs of the tendered services are about EUR 17.1 million a year. Compared to the current situation, the operating costs will decrease by about 15.5 percent.
