Both levels on Helmakuja that lead from Itätuulenkuja to Tapiola metro station and the bus terminal will be closed on weekdays between 8am and 6pm as of 14 June. Helmakuja is estimated to remain closed until the end of June. Metro station entrances G and H are located on Helmakuja. The lower level of the street also has a direct street level access route to platforms 10-11 at the bus terminal. Other entrances on the other sides of the building function as access routes to the metro and bus terminal during the construction work.
The changes are caused by nearby construction work. The access route is available as usual at weekends, on midweek holidays, during evenings and at night. The area has separate signs for the replacement access routes. The construction work will not have an effect on bus or metro services or the access routes to the bus terminal at night.
Replacement access routes from Itätuulenkuja
On the higher level of Itätuulenkuja
There is an accessible replacement route via Tuulikinsilta. The route runs along a corridor from Helmakuja toward Tapionaukio, that is, to the right when facing the AINOA shopping center.
Tuulikinsilta is the square next to the shopping center on the other side of the construction site. There is a separate door on Tuulikinsilta that leads to platforms 1-7 at the bus terminal. The door also functions as an entrance to the metro and platforms 10-11.
The access routes from the terminal to the metro and the other side of the terminal are in use as usual.
Replacement access route on the lower level of Itätuulenkuja
There is an accessible replacement route in the direction of Pohjantie/Etelätuulentie. From Helmakuja the route runs along a corridor toward Pohjantie, that is, to the left when facing the AINOA shopping center.
At the junction of Itätuulenkuja and Etelätuulentie, go across the pedestrian crossing toward the shopping center and then continue to the ramp toward the shopping center and bike parking (Merituulentori). There is a door leading to bus platforms 10-11 in front of the ramp. There is also an elevator next to the door.
The access routes from the terminal to the metro and the other side of the terminal are in use as usual.

Replacement access route from the metro and bus platforms 10-11 to Itätuulenkuja
The easiest route toward Itätuulenkuja is via the waiting room for platforms 10-11 at the bus terminal. Use the elevators located on the other side of the room. The elevators are located next to the toilet facilities and platform 10 at the bus terminal.
The elevators provide access to bike parking on Merituulentori. There is a ramp opposite the bike parking that leads toward the junction of Etelätuulentie and Itätuulenkuja.
The access routes from the metro to the bus terminal as well as exits to other directions are in use as usual.
