Timetable changes for I and P trains and service changes between Pohjois-Haaga and Vantaankoski at night 20–23 September – replacement bus 499X in traffic

Due to switch maintenance work between Kannelmäki and Vantaankoski, there will be disruptions to I and P train services between Pohjois-Haaga and Vantaankoski stations at night from 10pm to 5am between Tuesday 20 and Friday 23 September. During the disruptions, there will be no train services between certain stations. Additionally, the disruptions will also affect the timetables of I and P trains. Train services will be replaced by bus 499X.

Timetable changes for I and P trains and service changes at night 22–23 September – replacement bus 499X in traffic

Night between Thursday and Friday 22–23 September no trains will run between Martinlaakso and Vantaankoski between 10pm and 11pm and no trains will run between Malminkartano and Vehkala between 11pm and 5am. Replacement bus 499X will run between those stations.

Switch maintenance work will be carried out in Kannelmäki, Myyrmäki and Laajavuori at night between 10pm and 5am from Tuesday 20 September to Friday 23 September. Due to the work, there will be disruptions to I and P train services between Pohjois-Haaga and Vantaankoski stations. During the disruptions, there will be no train services between certain stations.

Additionally, the disruptions will also affect the timetables of I and P trains.

Train services will be replaced by bus 499X.

Changes to train services in detail

Night between Tuesday and Wednesday 20–21 September

No trains will run between Pohjois-Haaga and Myyrmäki between 10pm and 5am. Replacement bus 499X will run between Kannelmäki – Pohjois-Haaga – Vantaankoski. More detailed information on the bus can be found at the end of this bulletin.

Helsinki – Pohjois-Haaga

P trains from Helsinki will run only as far as Pohjois-Haaga. The trains will run to Pohjois-Haaga and then head back to Helsinki as I trains. Trains will run every 15 minutes between Pohjois-Haaga and Helsinki on both lines during the disruption.

  • P trains will depart from Helsinki at 8, 23, 38 and 53 minutes past every hour between 9.53pm and 0.53am.
  • I trains will run from Pohjois-Haaga to Helsinki every 15 minutes from 10.11pm to 0.56am. Additionally, one service will depart at 1.16am.

Helsinki – Airport – Myyrmäki

I trains will run from Helsinki via the Airport only as far as Myyrmäki. The trains will run to Myyrmäki and then head back towards the Airport as P trains. Trains will run every 30 minutes between Myyrmäki and Helsinki via the Airport on both lines during the disruption.

  • I trains will depart from Helsinki at 6 and 36 minutes past every hour between 9.36pm and 0.36am. In addition, the 9.21pm I train from Helsinki is cancelled.
  • P trains will run from Myyrmäki via the Airport to Helsinki every 30 minutes from 10.35pm to 1.35am.

AB tickets will exceptionally be accepted on journeys from stations between Myyrmäki–Vantaankoski and Helsinki via zone C.

Night between Wednesday 21 and Thursday 22 September

No trains will run between Malminkartano and Louhela between 10pm and 5am. Replacement bus 499X will run between Kannelmäki – Pohjois-Haaga – Vantaankoski. More detailed information on the bus can be found at the end of this bulletin.

Helsinki – Malminkartano

P trains from Helsinki will run only as far as Malminkartano. The trains will run to Malminkartano and then head back to Helsinki as I trains. Trains will run every 15 minutes between Malminkartano and Helsinki on both lines during the disruption.

  • P trains will depart from Helsinki at 8, 23, 38 and 53 minutes past every hour between 9.53pm and 0.53am.
  • I trains will run from Malminkartano to Helsinki every 15 minutes from 10.07pm to 0.52am. Additionally, one service will depart at 1.12am.

Helsinki – Airport – Louhela

I trains will run from Helsinki via the Airport only as far as Louhela. The trains will run to Louhela and then head back towards the Airport as P trains. Trains will run every 30 minutes between Louhela and Helsinki via the Airport on both lines during the disruption.

  • I trains will depart from Helsinki at 6 and 36 minutes past every hour between 9.36pm and 0.36am. In addition, the 9.21pm I train from Helsinki is cancelled.
  • P trains will run from Louhela via the Airport to Helsinki every 30 minutes from 10.36pm to 1.36am.

Helsinki – Martinlaakso

P trains from Helsinki will run only as far as Martinlaakso. The trains will run to Martinlaakso and then head back to Helsinki as I trains. Trains will run every 15 minutes between Martinlaakso and Helsinki on both lines during the disruption.

  • P trains will depart from Helsinki at 8, 23, 38 and 53 minutes past every hour between 9.53pm and 0.53am.
  • I trains will run from Martinlaakso to Helsinki every 15 minutes from 10.01pm to 0.46am. Additionally, one service will depart at 1.06am.

Helsinki – Airport – Vantaankoski

I trains will run from Helsinki via the Airport only as far as Vantaankoski. The trains will run to Vantaankoski and then head back towards the Airport as P trains. Trains will run every 30 minutes between Vantaankoski and Helsinki via the Airport on both lines during the disruption.

  • I trains will depart from Helsinki at 6 and 36 minutes past every hour between 9.36pm and 0.36am. In addition, the 9.21pm I train from Helsinki is cancelled.
  • P trains will run from Vantaankoski via the Airport to Helsinki every 30 minutes from 10.40pm to 1.40am.

AB tickets will exceptionally be accepted on journeys between Vantaankoski and Helsinki via zone C.

Replacement bus 499X

You can use the same tickets as for the trains when travelling on a replacement bus. If you have a valid ticket, you can board the replacement buses using the middle doors and do not need to show your ticket to the driver.

Bus 499X will run along route Kannelmäki – Pohjois-Haaga station – Vantaankoski station on Tuesday and Wednesday nights 20–22 September. The bus will run from Kannelmäki via Lassila towards Vantaankoski.

In other words, you can travel to Kannelmäki from Pohjois-Haaga with bus 499X on Tuesday night.

For instance, if you travel from downtown Helsinki towards Myyrmäki on Wednesday night, it is advisable to change from train to bus already at Pohjois-Haaga station instead of Kannelmäki. On that night, it is also possible change from train to bus in Malminkartano, but there the distance between the stop for the replacement buses and the station is longer.

On the night of 22/23 September, bus 499X will only run between Martinlaakso and Vantaankoski stations. Similar to the previous nights, the bus will use the same stops when leaving the stations.

The bus will run every 15 minutes every night.

  • towards Vantaankoski and Pohjois-Haaga: bay 15 (on Pasuunatie) and bay 12 (Kanneltalo)


Pohjois-Haaga:

  • towards Vantaankoski: bay 11 (on Ropokuja next to the station)
  • towards Kannelmäki: bay 12 (the “Lassila” stop on Kaupintie, some 50 meters from the station)


Malminkartano:

  • towards Vantaankoski: stops Puustellintie (H1554, on Malminkartanontie) and Kehruutie (V1557, on Korutie)
  • towards Pohjois-Haaga: stops Puustellintie (H1555, on Malminkartanontie) and Kehruutie (V1558, on Korutie)


Myyrmäki:

  • towards Vantaankoski: bay 20 (on Jönsaksentie)
  • towards Pohjois-Haaga: bay 18 (on Jönsaksentie)


Louhela:

  • towards Vantaankoski: bay 11
  • towards Pohjois-Haaga: bay 12


Martinlaakso:

  • towards Vantaankoski: bay 19
