We will be introducing improvements to services in 2024
In 2024, we are investing an unprecedented amount of funding into improving public transport. We will improve services on many routes and modes of transport. The next improvements to services will take effect on 2 April 2024.
The service frequency will increase to 10 minutes during weekday daytime and to 20 minutes on weekends. The operating hours will also increase.
The operating hours will be extended by one hour in the evening. On Sunday mornings, the service will start 30 minutes earlier.
Service frequency will be 10 minutes 5am to 10pm on weekdays, on Saturdays 9am to 10pm and on Sundays 10am to 7pm on the section of line from Helsinki via Myyrmäki to Helsinki Airport. On the section of line from Helsinki via Tikkurila to Helsinki Airport, the service frequency will decrease due to track work.
The train will run 30 minutes later on weekday nights. The service frequency will increase from 60 minutes to 30 minutes on weekend nights.
X trains will be turned into Y trains. Train journeys between Helsinki and Siuntio will become faster.
The bus will start running every 60 minutes on weekends. Transport links between Hyrylä, Ruskeasanta and central Helsinki will improve.
The new route will run on weekends, improving transport links, for example, to Jakomäki, Heikinlaakso and the Helsinki Outlet retail park.
More changes later in 2024
The next major improvements to services will take effect in August. There will be changes to train, tram and bus services. However, there will also be major service changes due to a number of different works being carried out and will be providing replacement services.
