Zone extension tickets will be removed from HSL’s range of tickets from 2 June 2026. After that date, zone extension tickets can no longer be purchased. The change will simplify HSL’s range of tickets.
In the future, separate zone extension tickets will no longer be needed, as passengers will be able to add single tickets to their season tickets. From 2 June 2026, it will be possible to combine different HSL tickets for the same journey. The tickets do not need to be purchased in the same way. For example, you can combine a season ticket on your HSL card with a single ticket purchased with contactless payment at a card reader, or combine an AB day ticket purchased in the HSL app with a single ticket for zones CD.
This means that you will still be able to travel outside the zones covered by your season ticket by purchasing a single ticket to add to it. Passengers must ensure that they have a ticket that covers the required zones and is valid before exiting the zones covered by their season ticket.
For example, if your employee has an AB season ticket and exceptionally needs to travel to zone C for work, they must buy a single ticket for zones BC or CD instead of a zone extension ticket.
