Varikkotie in Roihupelto to open to traffic on 3 October – Changes to bus routes 80, 92, 92N, 500 and 550

The construction of the new light rail link has progressed in Roihupelto and buses will be able to return to Varikkotie on Monday 3 October. The diversion of bus routes 80, 500 and 550 via Itäväylä will be withdrawn and buses 92 and 92N will start running via Ratasmyllyntie instead of Viilarintie.

In Roihupelto, bus stops for the routes will be located on different sides of the junction of Varikkotie and Viilarintie. Buses 80, 92, 510 and 550 in the direction of Itäkeskus and bus 92N in the direction of Kontula will have a stop on Varikkotie. Bus 550 in the direction of Westendinasema will have a stop on Viilarintie to the north of Varikkotie, while bus 80 in the direction of Herttoniemi, bus 92N in the direction of the Railway Square and trunk bus 500 in the direction of Munkkivuori will have a stop to the south of Varikkotie.

The diversions have been in place since June 2019.

Changes by route

• Bus 80, Herttoniemi (M) – Roihuvuori – Itäkeskus (M): The bus will resume its normal route along Varikkotie; the diversion via Itäväylä will be withdrawn. The bus will again serve the “Ratasmyllyntie” (4233 and H4234) and “Roihupelto” (H4231 and H4232) stops.
• Bus 92, Itäkeskus (M) – Myllypuro: The bus will resume its normal route along Varikkotie and Ratasmyllyntie. The bus will no longer run via Itäväylä and Viilarintie and it will not serve the “Roihupelto” (H4232 and H4247), “Holkkitie” (H4244) and “Kauppamyllyntie” (H4252 and H4253) stops. Instead, the bus will again serve the “Ratasmyllyntie” (H4234), “Metrovarikko” (H4248), “Myllypuron jäähalli” (H4250, H4251) and “Kauppamyllyntie” (H4982, 4983) bus stops.
• Bus 92N, Railway Square – Myllypuro – Kontula (Keinutie): The bus will resume its normal route along Varikkotie and Ratasmyllyntie. The bus will no longer serve the “Roihupelto” (H4247), “Holkkitie” (H4244) and “Kauppamyllyntie” (H4252, H4253)  stops along the diversion route. Instead, the bus will serve the “Roihupelto” (H4231), “Metrovarikko” (H4248, H4249), “Myllypuron jäähalli” (H4250, H4251) and “Kauppamyllyntie” (H4982, 4983) stops.
• Bus 500, Itäkeskus (M) – Pasila – Munkkivuori: The bus will resume its normal route along Varikkotie. The bus will again serve the “Roihupelto” (H4232 and H4231) bus stops.
• Bus 550, Itäkeskus (M) – Westendinasema: The bus will no longer serve the “Roihupelto” (H4232) stop on Viilarintie. Instead, the bus will serve the “Roihupelto” stop (H4231) on Varikkotie.
