We will provide additional Metro and bus services on Friday and Saturday nights during the pre-Christmas party season, from 18 November. Commuter trains will have extra carriages. Tram routes 7 and 9 will have additional services to the West Terminal from 2 December.
Additional services will operate until 18 December. On tram routes 7 and 9, additional services will operate until 6 January.

Additional Metro services 18 November to 18 December
The Metro will be running two hours longer than usual on Friday and Saturday nights.
Between 18 November and 2 December, the last Metro services on Fridays and Saturdays will be:
- From Matinkylä to Vuosaari at 1.21am, from Vuosaari to Matinkylä at 1.22am and from Mellunmäki to Matinkylä at 1.15am.
- From Rautatientori to Vuosaari at 1.41am, to Mellunmäki at 1.34am and to Matinkylä at 1.43am.
When the new section of Metro line from Matinkylä to Kivenlahti opens on 3 December, additional services will run until Kivenlahti. Between 3 December and 18 December, the last Metro services on Fridays and Saturdays will be:
- From Kivenlahti at 1.11am, from Matinkylä at 1.21am, from Vuosaari at 1.22am and from Mellunmäki at 1.15am.
- From Rautatientori to Vuosaari at 1.41am, to Mellunmäki at 1.34am and to Kivenlahti at 1.43am.
Additional services will operate to the same timetables on the eve of Independence Day, Monday 5 December.
Additional commuter train services 18 November to 18 December
K and L trains will have extra carriages on Friday and Saturday nights. Trains will also have extra carriages on the night of Monday 5 December.
On weekends, all trains from Helsinki Central Railway Station will depart from platforms 5–10 from 10.35pm onwards. In order to access the platforms at night, you need to show a valid ticket at the gates located at the end of the platforms in front of the station building. As the gates will be closed before the scheduled train departure times, we advise passengers to arrive in good time. Platform 10 is shorter than normal due to the construction work on Kaisantunneli. Consequently, the walk to some P and L trains is longer than usual. At night time, access to all platforms is at the platform ends, i.e. not from the sides or via the underpass.
Additional bus services 18 November to 18 December
Buses 20, 21N, 66, 67N, 71, 78N, 84, 88B, 108N, 112N, 113N, 114N, 118N, 125N, 147N, 231N, 235N, 300, 345(N), 415N and 436N will have additional services on Friday and Saturday evenings.
Additional tram services 2 December to 6 January
Tram routes 7 and 9 will have additional services to the West Terminal between 2 December and 6 January. Additional services will operate on Friday evenings and on Saturdays and Sundays mornings and evenings. There will also be additional services in the evening of Monday 5 December. On Independence Day, 6 December, additional services will operate both in the morning and evening.
