Changes to K, I and P train services from 23 June

Updated on 30 May: Preparatory work for the Vantaa Light Rail Line will start around Tikkurila station on Monday, 23 June. The work will affect train services through Tikkurila station from June until December 2025. K, I and P trains will operate a reduced service between 23 June and 27 July. Additionally, there will be changes to train departure platforms at Tikkurila station, with platforms 5 and 6 being closed from 23 June to 17 July.

Vantaa Light Rail will run under the Tikkurila station through a tunnel, and the busiest stop on the tram line will be built directly beneath the station. During the construction, excavation work will be carried out on the platform area, and temporary track bridges and structures will be installed on the platforms. These will allow both trains and passengers to safely cross the excavation site.

Platforms 5 and 6 will be closed from 23 June to 16 July. During the above-mentioned period, K, I, P and T trains will only use platform 4, which means less frequent train service.

Although the track work will be completed by mid-July, the timetable changes will remain in effect until 27 July, as work will be carried out on the Espoo Rail Line at the same time. The installed temporary track bridges and platform structures will remain in use until 2029, as the light rail tunnel will be built underneath them.

Up-to-date timetables are available in the Journey Planner.
