The lift will be out of service from 8am on Monday, 30 June. The stairs and the other lift will remain in use. Additionally, bus stop shelters at the station will be painted, with work set to commence on the same date, on 30 June. Between Monday, 30 June and Thursday, 3 July, bus 79 will depart from bay 9. The departure bay for bus 500 will change on Thursday, 10 July. The bus will depart from bay 9 from 10 July to 15 July. Follow the Journey Planner and the signs at the station for up-to-date information.

The lift at the larger ticket hall at Herttoniemi Metro Station, located at entrances A and B on the Länsi-Herttoniemi side, will be replaced. The lift will be out of service from about 8am on Monday, 30 June. During the work, there will be no accessible route between the Metro and the street level.

The other lift at entrance C on the Hiihtäjäntie side of the station will remain open. Metropolitan Area Transport Ltd will add wayfinding signs directing to the operational lift.

The new lift is expected to be in service in October 2025.

Metro and bus services to Herttoniemi will operate as usual during the work, but there will be temporary changes to bus departure bays

Maintenance work will be conducted on bus shelters at the stops for buses towards Laajasalo, Roihuvuori, and the Herttoniemi industrial area during the summer.

The shelters have been washed in June, and next they will be painted. The painting will start on Monday, 30 June. The work is expected to be completed by Monday, 18 August. Additionally, other maintenance work will be carried out outside the station throughout the summer.

The shelters will be painted one bay at a time, and the work on each bay will take approximately 5 days. The shelter being painted will be out of service during the work.

Buses will depart from bay 9 on the Hiihtomäentie side while their regular departure bay is closed.

Bay 9 is located next to the bay for arriving buses, close to the station door. We will add wayfinding signs to the departure bays for the duration of the work.

Follow the Journey Planner and the signs at the station for up-to-date information.

The first shelter to be painted is the shelter at bay 10, used by bus 79, near the junction of Hiihtomäentie and Suunnittelijankatu.

  • Between Monday, 30, June and Thursday, 3 July, bus 79 will depart from bay 9.
  • The bay for arriving buses and bus 500 to Itäkeskus will change to bay 9, from Thursday, 10 July to Tuesday, 15 July.
  • We will provide more information about changes to the bus bays as the next changes approach

The painting of the bus shelters may also affect walking routes in the station area. Due to the work, the waiting areas at the bus departure bays and the pathways leading to them are narrower than usual.

The work will not affect Metro services. It will be conducted in a way that minimizes disruption to passengers.

Additionally, we will install new timetable displays near the bus bays on the Hiihtomäentie side of the station, both outside and inside the ticket hall, to make bus travel easier.

The replacement of the lift and painting of bus shelters is part of a larger renovation of the station

Metropolitan Area Transport Ltd is renovating the interior and exterior surfaces at the station in 2025. Part of the larger ticket hall has been closed for the work since May.

The work in the larger ticket hall will expand in July, and the R-kiosk in the hall will close on Monday, 7 July. The kiosk will reopen in early August.

The lighting and all interior surfaces of the ticket hall will be renovated this summer. Later in the year, the escalator on the Hiihtomäentie side will be replaced. The lift at the Hertta end of the station has already been renovated.

The work at the station will be fully completed by the end of 2025. Metropolitan Area Transport Ltd. is responsible for the work and all changes at the station.
